for my first 3 days at work, didnt really do alot. as all my colleagues in my team were rather busy, they also had little time to teach me anything. i was jus given a very brief overview of wad my team is handling and e kind of systems tt we are using. was also given some materials to read and spent some time online doing some required compliance training.
i think i hav alot to learn before i can contribute to e team. i hav to learn how to use e various types of systems, hav to learn how to troubleshoot when abnormal things happen etc. also, i hav to gain some knowledge abt e pdts tt we are dealing with too, such as e exotic options, structured pdts etc. can foresee a steep learning curve ahead man. and nt forgetting tt i still hav to complete my online modules. sian.
ppl in ops are actually all quite nice. but i hav a feeling tt they will remain colleagues and hard to become frens. mayb it is too early to tell la. but well, i jus feel tt way now. it seems unlikely tt i will hang out with them after work or things like tt. oh and my team ppl dun even lunch tgt lo. ahha. e guys will join some other guys from other teams (i join them too) while my manager has her own clique and e other only girl in my team like no need to eat lunch one haha. she is like forever busy tt kind.perhaps it is quite normal la. we always hear ppl saying tt it is hard to make real frens at work. well, see how it goes.
hav been leaving office at abt 6plus 7 for e past 3 days. but i was e first to leave in my team, cos i really gt nth to do alr ha. anyway i heard e norm is working till abt 8 or so. nt tt bad la. from 9am to 8pm is only 11 hrs haha. hopefully i still can leave e office at 6plus 7 for e next one or 2 weeks haa. enjoy while i can yea!

time really flies. 1 july is tmr! haha. a few mths back, was super looking forward to start work cos scared e job offer wasnt secure. tt time was thinking tt e job is only secure when i settle down on my desk. a few weeks back, was quite sian abt starting work, cos felt tt haven play and slack enough after sooo many years of schooling.
tmr will b starting work at UBS AG, IB operations, as part of its graduate training program.

embarking on my career with UBS tmr
had a lot of fear and insecurity. afterall this is my very first proper job. many questions hav been running in my mind. will i meet their expectations? will i value-add to e team i am joining? will i get along with my manager, my team members and other colleagues? will i blend into UBS culture? will i cope well with e expected steep learning curve? etc etc.
working life is definitely very diff from schooling life and certainly there will b challenges and difficulties trying to bridge tt gap. just praying hard tt i can do it! and i am really thankful tt i gt e job. so no matter wad, i will put in my very best, like i always do, and hopefully will excel in my job. this is my ricebowl! haha.

my temp job last week, from tue to fri, was really a very slack one haha. went to expo hall 3 at 9am in e morning to help set up e booth with e other temp staff, yanni, who happens to b from NBS as well ha. will also wrap some kacang puteh while waiting for e show to start at 10.30am.

with yanni, vivien and e 2 IE singapore guys
then i will go ard distributing free kacang puteh to visitors. but many times i was raided by exhibitors of other booths as well. since i was jus giving out free food, most ppl wld nt reject and i ran out of kacang puteh real fast. i gt to take things slower, to protect my rice bowl. haha. i didnt wanna get sent home cos i hav finished giving out e peanuts.
with e 2 guys from IE singapore ard at e booth made time pass faster. cos they were really crappy haha and could talk alot of cock. when we all gt nth to do, which was often, e 4 of us wld jus hang ard e booth to chit chat and joke ard.
and this job was good also becos i was always surrounded by pretty gers from other booths. cos obviously they couldnt resist my nuts. hmm i mean my peanuts. haha.

me with some of e promoters at e show
finally, thanks to vivien for this $8/hr job lobang man. haha after 4 days of hard work, i earned $250! nt bad at all. oh wad’s more, i gt to keep my green and blue checkered sarong haha. wad a deal.

fathers’ day was last sun and we celebrated it on mon over a nice dinner at shin yeh, which is a tung lok restaurant in liang court. in my family, we do not have e habit or culture to express our love and gratitude openly. alot of things are unspoken and they remain deep in our hearts. and we dun give each other presents on occassions like birthdays, mothers’ day, fathers’ day etc. a nice dinner tgt as a family is our way of celebrating. and i think that is wad most parents yearn for - spending more time with their kids, rather than receiving presents from them. their time is their best presents.

fathers' day cele at shin yeh, liang court
anyway, shin yeh is a restaurant specialising in taiwanese cusine. and it gt a large variety of dishes on its menu lo, so many tt we had headache deciding wad to eat haha. in e end, we ordered: squid in claypot, fried pomfret, sea clam with chinese spinach, poached live prawns with dip and beancurd in XO sauce. e dinner ended with mango ice dessert and some complimentary glutinous rice balls.
a super filling and yummy dinner haa. e bill adds up to $144.75 but i hav a $50 voucher so in e end paid $94.75. nt bad for 4 ppl. haha. happy fathers’ day. may you will always b blessed with good health and happiness.
